The thriving student ministry at Grace Baptist Church needed a new space where teenagers could make relational connections in a safe, welcoming, modern setting, and experience Jesus. Knowing that teens are balancing school, extracurricular activities, friendships, and more, the Studio Four Design team worked with the Grace Baptist Student Ministry to create an inviting place for students that could serve as a “third space” outside of their home and school. This modern facility offers spacious areas that include a café, entry, game room, classrooms, prayer rooms, and an auditorium with flexible seating that can hold over 700 students. The space was designed to have an industrial feel with the use of exposed structure and concrete floors to appeal to a younger generation. The monumental staircase and custom-designed handrail connect the lobby to a game room that provides additional space for students to decompress. The open concept of the lobby space allows flexibility for students to gather and connect with each other and mentors who will impact their lives.
