The project scope also included a new addition to the existing arena level of the building to house both the visitor lockers and UT Volleyball team lockers. Additionally, Phase V incorporated a complete remodel of all main public restrooms throughout the arena including the addition of two large banks of women’s restrooms on the concourse level to bring the arena up to modern code requirements. An expanded and enhanced athletic training facility, featuring world-class hydrotherapy systems, was completed for use by both basketball programs, offering an exceptional training experience for collegiate athletes.

The University of Tennessee needed an updated space not only to continue accommodating thousands of individuals who attend events at Thompson-Boling Arena, but provide a modern, innovative space for the collegiate athletes and coaches that utilize the space. With the specific, purposeful updates and compliance with modern code requirements achieved in Phase V, the university is well-equipped to continue offering a superior destination for the thousands of individuals who visit, practice, and play at Thompson-Boling arena.
