Since its 1939 inception, Clinton Utilities Board (CUB) had seen a dramatically larger customer base and had expanded their services to include both water and sewer.
Realizing they needed a larger facility to meet the community’s needs, Clinton Utilities Board wanted to ensure that the new space would reflect their commitment to their customers, employees, and the environment. Working with the Studio Four Design team, CUB completed a new building that significantly reduced its operating costs and supported the local economy, while still maintaining its budget. This careful balance also helped CUB avoid a rate increase, which was a high priority for the organization’s leadership. Project highlights include 31% of project materials being derived from regional sources, the use of “low-flow” plumbing fixtures that reduced water consumption by 38%, and a heating and air system that was 21% more efficient than a standard system.
The result is a facility that allows Clinton Utility Board to meet customer needs while expressing shared values of conservation, humility, and sustainability. Studio Four Design is thankful to have had the opportunity to help CUB achieve its goals to continue offering outstanding service for years to come.
